Children’s Librarian. Under general supervision, the Children’s Librarian provides reference and programming services to children and their families and assists with the development and maintenance of the library’s children’s collection. We are seeking a motivated, flexible and creative person to become a part of a team dedicated to outstanding customer service.
The ideal candidate must—
- Successfully relate to children of all ages
- Possess excellent knowledge of children’s and young adult literature
- Have strong customer service and technology skills
- Be able to present a variety of children’s programs in-house as well as through outreach in the community
- Assist with the development and maintenance of the library’s children’s collection
This is a full time position with fringe benefits. This position requires a Masters Degree in Library Science or equivalent degree. Starting pay in this classification is $17.18 per hour. The typical schedule will be 40 hours per week including nights and weekends. Tasks involve some physical effort including frequent lifting, pushing, pulling of 5 to 40 pounds.
