Patrons may place reserves (hold requests) on items that are currently checked out. When a patron places an item on reserve, he/she is placed in a queue (waiting list) on a first-come first-served order. The Circulation Services staff will notify the patron when the item becomes available by telephone, E-mail, or postcard. The patron has seven days to pick up the reserved item. Items not picked up will pass on to the next patron in the queue. Due to the high volume of requests, there is a $1.00 charge for all reserved items not picked up.

There are several ways that patrons may reserve items:

  • In the library at an catalog computer station
  • In the library at the Circulation, Reference, or Youth Services desks
  • On the Internet using the WebPAC
  • By telephone
