Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling

Rating:

This is the fifth book of the Harry Potter series. It has light humor scattered throughout, but the main genre is the action and adventure.  Although there are many light points, the majority of the book is sort of depressing.  It ends on a light note, at least compared to the rest of the book as well as the series.

Sailor Moon: A Scout is Born by Stuart Levy

Rating:

When Serena finds a talking cat called Luna,  her destiny changes forever!  She finds out that she is the super heroine Sailor Moon.  She has to fight evil witches from the Megaverse who are stealing energy.  This is a good novel, however  I miss Nakeo's work.  Great,  but not authentic.  Serena wears American clothing  and watches N*Sync on TV.  Not happening!  However,  he did a great job copying it!

The Littles Go Exploring by John Peterson

Rating:

The Littles go Exploring is about Tom and Lucy Little.  They find a secret room.  Everybody thinks Grandpa Little is dead except for Granny Little.  The Littles go on a trip to find Grandpa Little.  Will they find him alive or dead?  I like this book a lot because it shows how all of the Littles use big things to make ordinary things.  For example:  They use pencils to made ladders.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling

Rating:

Harry Potter is a boy who thought he was an ordinary boy that no one loves until one day a letter came to him,  and then another,  and lots of others saying that he was a wizard and was invited to the best wizarding school,  Hogwarts.  When Harry is at Hogwarts he meets his best friends,  Hermione and Ron Granger.  He also meets his arch rival Draco Malfoy.   A grand adventure including a stone,  he-who-must-not-be-named,  courage and friendship.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling

Rating:

Harry Potter, a wizard,  is invited back to Hogwarts again,  and by taking advantage of it,  does magic in the Muggle world  crash a flying car into a valuable tree,  win a quidditch game in Malfoy's face (Harry's enemy),  and kills people,  or does he?  It is said that a secret chamber in Hogwarts has been opened with a terrible monster inside that kills people under the command of Slytherin's heir (a founder of Hogwarts),  which people think is Harry.  Harry knows it is not him,  but has a pretty good idea of who it is......

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling

Rating:

Harry Potter is once again invited to Hogwarts for the third time,  but this time the teachers are keeping an eye out for him.  Not that he is bad or anything,  it's just that a crazy prisoner has escaped from Azkaban,  a prison which everyone thought impossible to do,  and is coming straight to Hogwarts,  which everyone thinks it's to murder Harry,  that's all.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K. Rowling

Harry Potter,  now fourteen,  is officially going to the Quidditch World Cup this summer with Ron.  Then,  strange things start happening.  Harry's scar started hurting after a nightmare.  Bertha Jokins and Barty Crouch are missing,  and someone put Harry's name in the Goblet of fire to make it choose Harry to compete in the Triwizard Cup,  even though he is underage and is the fourth one to compete when there should only be three....

Return of the King by J.R.R. Tolkein

Rating:

This book is the third book in the Lord of the Rings.  In this book Frodo successfully accomplishes his mission to destroy a powerful ring.  He also overthrows the Dark Lord Sauron.  When Frodo gets home he finds Sauron has taken over his country.  Him and his friend fight to overthrow his reign again.  Any child that likes fantasy books should read this.  I really enjoyed it and did not want to put it down until I was done with it.

The Hobbit or There and Back Again by J.R.R. Tolkein

Rating:

The Hobbit is a story that happens before the Lord of the Rings.  The story tells how a powerful ring gets into Bilbo's possession and the adventure he went through.  Then it talks about the Battle of Five Armies.  That battle involved Elves, Dwarves,  and Men on the good side,  and Goblins, Wolves,  and Wargs on the bad side.  You need to read the book to find out more.
