Classics For those great books that have been on your reading list... ************************************************************* Little Women by Louisa May Allcott Rating: This book is about four girls who live in the year 1864. They bear their hardships. I liked it because it was original and it explained simply the life of four girls in a hard time. Reviewed by a local teen, entered 7-2002 ************************************************************* The Adventures of Robin Hood by Roger Lancelyn Green Rating: Robin Hood and his followers like Little John and Friar Tuck, and Will Scarlett, have lots of adventures stealing from evil wealthy men for the good poor. He weds the Maid Marian in this book while hoping for good King Richard to come home to England to save the people from Prince John, the sheriff and Robin's rival Sir Guy of Gisborne. Reviewed by a local teen, entered 6-2002 ************************************************************* The Call of the Wild by Jack London Rating: Buck was a normal dog until he was kidnapped and brought to the cold north where snow covers everything. He is placed in a snow dog team with a leader named Spitz who is ready to kill Buck at every moment. Soon Buck gets used to his new life in the wild. Buck becomes wild and one of the most admired dogs in the north. Reviewed by a local teen, entered 8-2002 ************************************************************* |
