Adult Volunteers

Be a part of our team!

The Johnson City Public Library is in need of your help.  We are looking for volunteers to assist library staff in providing services to our community.

The library is an exciting and busy place.   The library has five service areas that work directly with the public.  Volunteers are needed in all five!  Or, if you prefer to work behind the scenes, we have opportunities for you there.  Come be a part of a winning team!

  • Staffing Information Desk
  • Conducting library tours
  • Introducing clients to the online catalog
  • Assisting in the children's programs
  • Staffing the Tennessee Room
  • Assisting in collection maintenance
  • Performing clerical duties
  • Preparing materials for children's and adult's programs
