On Saturday, October 19th, the Johnson City Public Library will be hosting an all-day event promoting health awareness! In the Jones Meeting Center, representatives from various local health organizations will offer presentations throughout the day on a wide range of health information topics. Johnson City residents and JCPL library patrons of all ages are welcome and encouraged to attend this free event. 4:00 p.m. Family Meals by Amber Reynolds, Clinical Nutritionist from the Johnson City Community Health Center
5:00 p.m. Blood Pressure and Your Health by Walgreens Pharmacy
Walgreens Pharmacy will offer free blood pressure screenings throughout the day.
Speech and hearing screenings will be offered on-site by specialists from the Johnson City Community Health Center.
East Tennessee State University Dental Hygiene School students will be handing out free dental cleaning supplies and will offer information about their free dental clinic.
Since October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a nurse from East Tennessee State University Student/University Health Services will provide information on breast cancer and self-screening.
Insight Alliance will provide information on alcohol and drug addiction recovery resources.
East Tennessee State University Quillen College of Medicine Library will provide information about finding health resources.
Earth Fare will have coupons available and will be giving away a door prize.
Silas Tolan will offer information about the Health Insurance Marketplace and will be available to help visitors with the application process.
