Addiction: Finding and Giving Help

September 4, 2014 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Are you or is someone you love struggling with addiction to alcohol or drugs? Jason Abernathy from Insight Alliance of Washington County gave a powerful talk about addiction and recovery at the library last spring, and due to popular demand he will speak again this fall. Addiction: Finding and Giving Help will be held on Thursday, September 4th at 6:00 p.m. in the JCPL Kathryn Jones Meeting Room. Using his own story of addiction and recovery, Mr. Abernathy will address what addiction is, who it affects, and how it compares to societal stereotypes.  He will also talk about recovery resources that support and help addicts and those affected by addiction. There will be time at the end of the talk to ask Mr. Abernathy questions. For more information about Insight Alliance, a substance abuse prevention group in Washington County, visit their website at www.wcadc.com. Addiction impacts everyone in our community in some way; all are invited to attend this free informational talk. There is hope in recovery for anyone affected by addiction.
