JCPL is a member of OWL, the Organization of Watauga Libraries. All public libraries in Carter, Greene, Johnson, Sullivan, Unicoi, and Washington counties share a common computerized catalog system. With this system, patrons can find and request books from any OWL library.

Steampunk Program

Teens who will be 6th-12th graders in the fall can participate in the Johnson City Public Library’s Steampunk program on Monday, July 15 from 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m., or Tuesday, July 16 from 6:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m. in the Jones Meeting Room. Teens will make a variety of Steampunk inspired projects including light bulb hot air balloons, top hats, copper pipe pendants, and a paper mache octopus.
